Monument

By Steven Burneson

Monument was taken just outside of Notre Dame in Paris by Steven Burneson, a 22-year-old cinema major at Virginia Tech. Burneson is fascinated by the creative process, even though he knows talking about it is like walking a minefield of cliches. He says of his motivation for art, “You realize the feeling you have is likely divided across millions of people, over multiple periods of time. But you’re just an absolute rascal on the kazoo, and you own these moments.” If you’d like to explore more of Burneson’s creative work, check out his song, “Lustful Maiden,” also featured in this round of selections.
