Brennan Young is a studio art major and art history minor at Virginia Tech. His oil painting Rainfall comes from a personal place. “I have mild seasonal depression, and I feel like this painting embodies my general mood during the winter,” he says of the work. He is usually working on different pieces at the same time, so his creative process can be chaotic. He prefers his physical work space to be peaceful; he gets most of his creative work done at night when there are minimal distractions and everyone else is asleep.
